Chembarambakkam (Sembarambakkam in revenue records) is a village in Poonamallee taluk on the Chennai–Bengaluru highway (NH48), west of Nazarathpet. It gives its name to Chembarambakkam lake, the larger of the two main rain-fed reservoirs that supply Chennai's drinking water (the other is Puzhal) and the source of the Adyar river.
