Manufactured sand replaced river sand as Tamil Nadu's structural fine aggregate after private river-sand quarrying was stopped in 2019, and the state's M-Sand Policy 2023 now promotes IS-grade crushed sand. The difference between good and bad M-Sand is washing and grading control: unwashed crusher fines carry too much dust (the −75 µm fraction) and drift between zones from one load to the next.
Our M-Sand comes off the VSI stage and through a sand-washing module, so silt is controlled and the grading is held in IS 383 Zone II — the zone specified for structural concrete — with a fineness modulus in the 2.6–2.9 band that RMC mix designs assume. Send us your mix design and the sand is matched to it and held there, with a gradation certificate per lot.
Sold by the weighbridge tonne in 16–20 MT tipper loads. One unit (100 cft) of M-Sand weighs roughly 4.5–5 MT.

Produced to IS 383:2016 gradings (M-Sand Zone II, P-Sand to IS 1542, GSB/WMM to MoRTH Section 400). Gradation, silt, crushing value and flakiness are tested through accredited third-party laboratories; certificates accompany every bulk contract.

M-Sand — questions buyers ask
What is the M-Sand price per unit versus per ton?
We sell by weighbridge tonne. One unit (100 cft) is roughly 4.5–5 MT of M-Sand, so multiply our per-MT delivered figure by about 4.7 to compare with per-unit quotes. Tonne pricing is fairer — you pay for weight, not for how loosely the truck was heaped.
Is M-Sand better than river sand?
For structural concrete, properly washed and graded M-Sand is more consistent, free of shells and organic matter, cubical for better bond, legally available and cheaper — Chennai river sand quotes in 2026 ran roughly double M-Sand. Tamil Nadu's own M-Sand Policy 2023 promotes it for exactly these reasons.
What is 'double washed' M-Sand?
Trade shorthand for sand passed through a washing stage that removes excess fines and dust. Our sand goes through a sand-washing module as a rule, and the −75 µm fraction is checked per lot.
How do I check M-Sand quality at site?
Rub a pinch between wet palms — it should leave little dust; do a jar settlement test for silt; check the gradation certificate against the Zone II band; and confirm the load was weighed. We provide the certificate with each lot.
What is the full form of M Sand?
Manufactured sand — granite crushed in a VSI crusher and washed to a controlled grading. It is the IS 383 Zone II replacement for river sand in structural concrete, and its full form simply distinguishes it from naturally mined sand.
Can you match an RMC plant's mix design?
