Mandaveli (Mandavelipakkam), whose name comes from the Tamil for an open ground where cattle herds grazed, is a mainly residential neighbourhood just south of Mylapore, between Santhome, Alwarpet and Raja Annamalaipuram, served by the Mandaveli MRTS station.
