About CIT Nagar
CIT Nagar is a residential area west of Anna Salai, beside Nandanam, T. Nagar and Saidapet, and is divided into CIT Nagar East and CIT Nagar West. It takes its name from the Madras City Improvement Trust, which laid out housing colonies across the city in the 1940s and 1950s. Its independent houses and low-rise blocks are gradually being replaced by apartment buildings, with repairs and floor additions in between.
