About Kaladipet
Kaladipet is a neighbourhood of Thiruvottiyur on Thiruvottiyur High Road, between Tollgate and Thiruvottiyur Theradi. Its name comes from Colletpet, after Joseph Collett, the early-18th-century President of Madras who paid for its Kalyana Varadharaja Perumal temple, and its Blue Line metro station, earlier named Thangal, opened in 2021. Building work is mostly house rebuilds in the side streets and shop buildings along the high road.
