About Raja Annamalaipuram
Raja Annamalaipuram (R. A. Puram) runs along the northern bank of the Adyar river, south of Alwarpet and beside Mandaveli, and is named after the banker S. Rm. M. Annamalai Chettiar, who once owned most of its land.
It is mainly residential, with independent houses and apartment buildings, and the work is apartment redevelopment and house rebuilds. Underground Phase 2 metro stations are being built at Greenways Road (Purple Line) and Boat Club (Yellow Line).
